Keeping water moving while we build.

Lift stations, booster stations and treatment facilities are some of the most technical buildings in any municipality. We build new stations and upgrade existing ones, often while the plant keeps running.

Pumping stations & water infrastructure

A pumping station is a small building packed with critical systems: pumps and motors, process piping and valves, motor control, standby power and the controls that let operators run it remotely. Every one of those systems has to work together, and the station usually can’t be taken out of service while the work happens.

That combination of electrical, mechanical and rotating equipment work in a live facility is exactly what Enertec was built for.

What makes it hard

The challenges we plan for.

Every sector has its own risks. These are the ones we plan around from the first meeting.

  • Staying in service

Communities still need water and wastewater service during construction. We sequence work so enough capacity stays online at every stage, with bypass pumping and temporary power where needed.

  • Many trades, one small room

Pumps, piping, MCCs and controls all meet in the same compact space. Planning them as one scope avoids clashes and access problems.

  • Long-lead equipment

Pumps, switchgear and generators can take many months to arrive. We help identify long-lead items early so they don’t set the schedule.

Our approach

Planned around the operator, not just the drawings.

Before work starts we sit down with the facility operators to understand how the station runs, which units can come out of service and when, and what the contingency is if something unexpected happens.

Shutdowns are written up step by step and agreed in advance. Our electrical, mechanical and millwright crews are scheduled together, so a pump can be removed, replaced, piped, wired, aligned and back in service in one coordinated window.

Typical scope
  • New lift and booster stations
  • Pump, motor and VFD replacements
  • Process piping and valve upgrades
  • Controls, SCADA and standby power
  • Equipment rebuilds and alignment
  • Shutdown and bypass planning
