  3. Millwrighting

Setting and aligning the equipment that moves water and product.

Our millwrights install, align and maintain pumps, motors and process equipment with the precision that rotating machinery needs to run for decades.

Millwrighting

Most early equipment failures start at installation.

A pump that’s misaligned by a fraction of a millimetre, sitting on a poorly grouted base or carrying the weight of its own piping will wear out bearings and seals long before it should. Those problems are almost always created during installation, and they are expensive to fix later.

Our millwrights set, level, grout and align rotating equipment to manufacturer tolerances, and they work directly with our mechanical and electrical crews on the piping and drive connections that affect how that equipment runs.

Millwrighting scope

What we build.

Delivered by our own millwrighting crews, coordinated with the rest of the Enertec team on the same project.

  • Pump & motor installation

Setting, grouting and connecting pumps and drives in pumping stations and plants.

  • Precision alignment

Laser shaft alignment and vibration checks to keep bearings and seals running.

  • Rigging & setting

Planning and executing lifts of heavy equipment into tight or live spaces.

  • Process equipment

Conveyors, mixers, blowers and other mechanical equipment installed to manufacturer tolerances.

  • Rebuilds & overhauls

Disassembly, inspection and rebuild of pumps, gearboxes and rotating equipment.

  • Preventive maintenance

Scheduled maintenance programs that catch problems before they cause downtime.

Delivery

How a millwrighting scope runs.

The same sequence on every project, adapted to the facility and the schedule.

  1. Lift & installation planning

Rigging plans, access routes and the sequence for removing old equipment and setting new.

  2. Setting, levelling & grouting

Bases set to elevation and level, then grouted to give the equipment a solid foundation.

  3. Alignment

Laser alignment after piping is connected, so pipe strain is caught before start-up.

  4. Run-in & baseline readings

Vibration and temperature readings recorded at start-up as a baseline for future maintenance.

How we work

One team from base plate to start-up.

A pump is only as good as its alignment, its piping and the drive that runs it. Because our millwrights work alongside our own mechanical and electrical crews, the handoffs between those trades are handled inside one team.

That matters most on pumping station upgrades, where equipment is replaced while the station stays in service.

Codes & standards we build to

Questions

Common questions.

Can you replace pumps while a station stays in service?

Yes. We plan the sequence with the operator so enough pumping capacity stays online while each unit is removed and replaced.

Do you only install new equipment?

No. We also rebuild pumps and gearboxes and run preventive maintenance programs on existing equipment.

Why does alignment happen after the piping is connected?

Piping can pull equipment out of alignment. Checking after connection catches pipe strain before it damages bearings and seals.

Do you provide records at start-up?

Yes. Alignment reports and baseline vibration readings are included in the turnover package.
